OHIO — Two people were found dead following a SWAT response in Adams County late Thursday, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were conducting a welfare check around 8 p.m. on an elderly woman at a residence along Wintersteen Run Road when they discovered one person dead from apparent head trauma.
As deputies attempted to contact a second individual at a nearby home, they heard a gunshot from inside the residence.
SWAT officers were called to the scene. When they entered the home, they found another person dead from a gunshot wound.
Officials said there is no threat to the public. The Ohio Bureau of Investigations is assisting the Adams County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation continues.
