
OHIO — Two men were found dead following a reported shooting late Thursday night in Rootstown Township, according to authorities.
Deputies with the Portage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired at approximately 10 p.m. on Jan. 8 at a residence along Biltz Road in Rootstown Township.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found two men lying on the floor of the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. A firearm was located between the two individuals, officials said. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased were identified as Bradley Goldner, 40, and Andrew Carney, 31, according to the sheriff’s office. Investigators determined that three shots were fired during the incident.
In a news release, the sheriff’s office said the case is believed to be a murder-suicide. The investigation remains ongoing.
No additional details were released as of Friday, and authorities said further information would be provided if it becomes available.
