OHIO — Two men are dead following a motorcycle crash early Thursday morning near Dayton International Airport.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post, troopers responded to the crash at around 1:05 a.m. on Logistics Lane near the airport.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Christian Price, 24, of Ansonia, and Austin Evans, 25, of West Milton, were riding a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Logistics Lane when the vehicle struck a curb, went off the road, and crashed into a dirt berm.
The impact caused the motorcycle to go airborne, strike the airport’s perimeter fence, and land inside the airport grounds.
Both men were thrown from the motorcycle and were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said neither was wearing a helmet.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol believes that excessive speed was a contributing factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Responding agencies included the Dayton International Airport Police Department, the Dayton International Airport Fire Department, the Vandalia Division of Fire, the Butler Township Fire Department, the Miamisburg Police Department, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, and Parker’s Towing.
