FLORIDA — State troopers are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred over the weekend on Interstate 75 in Ohio.
According to investigators, an 84-year-old man from Carlisle died Sunday after crashing his Honda Goldwing motorcycle while exiting the southbound lanes of I-75 near the 306 Milepost.
Authorities said the rider failed to negotiate a curve while entering a rest area, causing the motorcycle to leave the roadway and collide with an embankment in a drainage retention area.
An 80-year-old woman from Eaton, who was riding as a passenger, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
