FLORIDA — Two motorcyclists were killed in a crash Sunday morning in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash occurred around 11:34 a.m. at the intersection of Micco Road and Babcock Street. The collision involved two motorcycles traveling eastbound on Micco Road and a Chevrolet Tahoe traveling west.

According to investigators, witnesses reported that both motorcycles were exceeding the posted speed limit when the SUV attempted to make a left turn, crossing into the path of the motorcycles. Troopers said the motorcycles struck the vehicle.

The two motorcyclists, ages 24 and 19, both from Barefoot Bay, were pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement officials said their next of kin have been notified.

The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe, a 71-year-old woman from Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Troopers said she suffered minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash and said additional information may be released as the investigation progresses.
