Two people dead following house fire in Ohio

OHIO — Two people lost their lives in a house fire early Saturday morning in Springfield.

Fire crews were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Center Boulevard around 5:01 a.m. after reports of a house fire with people possibly trapped inside, according to Springfield Fire Chief Jacob King.

When firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Tragically, two individuals were found dead inside. Other residents managed to escape before emergency responders arrived.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Authorities are working to determine what sparked the deadly blaze.
