LOUISIANA — Two people were shot and killed early Wednesday morning in Algiers, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene on Jo Ann Place shortly after 8 a.m., following reports of gunfire that came in around 7:45 a.m.
Police said a 16-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene. A 20-year-old man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide. Authorities have not released information about a suspect or motive.
