Two people dead following crash on U.S. 60 in Kentucky

KENTUCKY — A fatal crash involving a semi and a pickup truck shut down part of U.S. Highway 60 East near Owensboro in Kentucky on Friday morning, authorities said.

The wreck occurred just before 8 a.m. near the 61-mile marker, closing the westbound lanes for several hours.

According to the sheriff’s office, two people in the pickup truck were killed. Their identities have not yet been released.

Officials reopened the highway around 1:15 p.m. after clearing the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
