
GEORGIA — Two men were killed Thursday night after being struck by vehicles while trying to cross Interstate 85.
According to police, the incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the southbound lanes near Buford Highway. A 51-year-old man and a 49-year-old man were attempting to cross the interstate when they were hit. Both victims died at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released their identities.
Both drivers involved remained at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation.
Southbound lanes were temporarily closed while police investigated but have since reopened.
The investigation is ongoing.
