Two people arrested in connection to auto burglaries in Mississippi

MISSISSIPPI — Capitol Police have arrested two juveniles in connection with more than 20 auto burglaries at Belhaven University and Millsaps College.

The crimes occurred during the early morning hours of September 2, 2025, when multiple vehicles were broken into on both campuses. One vehicle was reported stolen.

Police said they spotted the stolen vehicle on Pear Orchard Road a few hours later and conducted a traffic stop. The driver and passenger were wearing clothing matching suspect descriptions, and stolen items were recovered from the vehicle.

Both juveniles were taken into custody without further incident. The investigation is ongoing.
