LOUISIANA — Tangipahoa Parish deputies have arrested a father and son accused of selling drugs near an elementary school.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO), Troy “Jack” Jackson, 49, and his son, Troy Jackson Jr., 26, were allegedly distributing marijuana, synthetic cannabinoids known as “mojo,” and liquid opioids from two homes in Ponchatoula — one on East Rateau Road and another on North 1st Street.

Deputies said the North 1st Street residence, located near Tucker Memorial Elementary School, is where both men were taken into custody.

The elder Jackson was booked with possession with intent to distribute Schedule I and II narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violating controlled substance laws within a drug-free zone. His son was booked with possession with intent to distribute Schedule I narcotics and controlled substance violation within a drug-free zone.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing and that additional arrests are expected.
