
NORTH CAROLINA — Two people are facing multiple charges after a stolen vehicle chase in the Triad on Nov. 17, authorities said.
Lexington Police said officers spotted the reported stolen vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the driver failed to yield, leading officers on a pursuit. During the chase, the vehicle struck two other vehicles before crashing at Cotton Grove Road and New Haven Road.
The driver, 31-year-old Makahla Slycord, and passenger, 40-year-old Ladonna Belton, were taken to a local hospital for treatment before being booked into Davidson County Jail.
Slycord faces numerous charges, including felony probation violation, felony flee to elude arrest, felony possession of a stolen vehicle, hit and run, driving while license revoked, felony possession of methamphetamine and cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest. She was released on a $25,000 bond.
Belton was charged with an outstanding arrest order for drug offenses, felony possession of methamphetamine and cocaine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held without bond.
The pursuit involved assistance from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
