KENTUCKY — Two people are facing charges following a reported pursuit involving a stolen vehicle in Christian County on Monday, according to the Hopkinsville Police Department.

Police said officers attempted to stop a vehicle on West Ninth Street that had been reported stolen. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Corey Johnson of Hopkinsville, failed to stop and fled the scene. During the pursuit, police stated Johnson crossed into the opposite lane of traffic.

The chase ended on Fort Campbell Boulevard when a deputy used a precision immobilization technique to stop the vehicle. Johnson and a passenger, identified as 21-year-old Brenda Oliver of Lawrenceville, Georgia, were taken into custody.

Both Johnson and Oliver are charged with receiving stolen property. In addition, Johnson faces multiple charges, including speeding 26 miles per hour or more over the speed limit, failure to or improper signal, first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, operating on a suspended or revoked license, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, and possession of marijuana.

Both individuals remain held at the Christian County Detention Center.
