Two people arrested following stabbing incident in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — Two men were arrested Sunday following a stabbing incident in Greenville, authorities reported.

Greenville Police responded to Greene Street on Sept. 28, where they found a 23-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Witnesses told officers that 19-year-old Darrel Williams stabbed the victim while 19-year-old Sheltonious Johnson blocked others from intervening and assaulted females who tried to stop the attack.

Officials said the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute between Williams and a female witness. The victim was transported to ECU Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover fully.

Williams was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, misdemeanor domestic violence, and misdemeanor assault on a female.

Johnson was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, felony accessory after the fact, and two counts of misdemeanor assault on a female.

Both men remain in custody at the Pitt County Jail without bond.
