NORTH CAROLINA — Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting investigation in Washington that police say involved three juvenile victims.

According to the City of Washington, officers with the Washington Police Department and Washington Fire/Rescue responded around 1:43 p.m. on Feb. 4 to a home in the 1400 block of West 5th Street after reports of gunshots in the area.

When officers arrived, they learned three males had fled the scene on foot. Investigators later determined that three male juveniles were the intended victims. Police said the juveniles were later found nearby and that no injuries were reported.

Authorities said detectives immediately launched an investigation because of the seriousness of the case, which led to two arrests.

A 16-year-old male juvenile has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Police said he is being held without bond.

Police also arrested Brandon Timpleton, 18, of Washington. He is charged with three counts of felony conspiracy and is also being held without bond.

Officials said the arrests are part of the department’s continued efforts to address youth violence in the community. The investigation remains active, and police said additional arrests are expected.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Washington Police Department.
