FLORIDA — Two people were taken into custody following a standoff Sunday morning in Fruitland Park, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said deputies responded early in the day to Sunnyside Drive regarding two barricaded suspects. Officials said one of the individuals had threatened a neighbor with a firearm prior to the standoff.
A negotiator responded to the scene and made contact with the suspects.
Deputies said both individuals later surrendered and were arrested without incident.
Officials also said attempts were made to evacuate nearby residents during the situation.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities said the case remains under investigation, and additional details are expected to be released.
