VIRGINIA — Two people were arrested following a police pursuit in Hampton earlier this month, according to the Hampton Police Division.
The incident began around 11:34 p.m. on March 9 when Virginia State Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the intersection of Woodland Road and Bonaire Drive. Authorities said the driver did not stop, leading officers to initiate a pursuit. Hampton police officers assisted during the chase.
The vehicle eventually stopped in the 300 block of Beauregard Heights. Police said both the driver and a passenger then fled the vehicle on foot.
After a short foot pursuit, officers took both individuals into custody.
The driver faces charges of obstruction and multiple traffic violations. The passenger has been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and obstruction.
Officials said no injuries were reported. Police have not released additional details about the incident.
