LOUISIANA — Two people were arrested following a methamphetamine trafficking investigation in Ascension Parish, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said Ronald Bennet, 63, of Prairieville, was suspected of selling illegal narcotics from his home and had active felony warrants out of Livingston Parish. Deputies later observed Bennet leaving the residence with Dawn Grayson, 48, of Geismar.

During a subsequent traffic stop, both individuals were found in possession of methamphetamine. Bennet was taken into custody at the scene.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at the residence, where they seized additional methamphetamine, seven firearms, and digital scales commonly associated with drug distribution.

Bennet was booked on multiple charges, including seven counts of illegal carrying of weapons in the presence of controlled dangerous substances, possession of methamphetamine, and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Grayson was charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Authorities did not release further details as the investigation continues.
