
VIRGINIA — Two Covington men are facing multiple drug distribution charges after a traffic stop in Botetourt County led to the discovery of a large quantity of illegal narcotics, according to the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies conducted the traffic stop on February 28, 2026, in the 1700 block of Roanoke Road in Daleville. During the stop, K9 Nuka alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of significant amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and MDMA, along with packaging materials consistent with drug distribution.
Authorities arrested both occupants of the vehicle, identified as 57 year old Joseph Stinnett of Covington and 25 year old Zane Brizzi of Covington.
According to the sheriff’s office, both men were charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 223.5 grams, or approximately eight ounces, of methamphetamine. They were also charged with possession with intent to distribute 30 grams of fentanyl, 42 grams of cocaine and 33 grams of MDMA.
Botetourt County Sheriff M.T. Ward emphasized the department’s stance on drug enforcement.
“Let me be clear, if you’re dealing drugs in Botetourt County, we’re coming for you. We won’t hesitate to take dangerous narcotics off our streets and put those responsible behind bars. Your time is up,” Ward said.
The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office said it remains committed to proactively enforcing the law and removing dangerous drugs from the community.
