SOUTH CAROLINA — Two men from opposite coasts were arrested on drug trafficking charges Thursday in Florence County, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO).
Deputies identified the suspects as Greamy Urena, 29, of New York, and Juan Carlos Castillo-Quezada, 27, of California.
Both were taken into custody after FCSO’s Criminal Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic stop for speeding on Interstate 95.
When deputies approached the SUV, they reported smelling marijuana. A subsequent probable-cause search uncovered more than 140 pounds of marijuana and THC wax inside the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
Urena and Castillo-Quezada are being held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
