NORTH CAROLINA — Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after authorities seized thousands of dollars worth of methamphetamine and fentanyl during a search in Caldwell County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office ICE Unit and SWAT Team executed a search warrant Wednesday at a home on Apple Blossom Lane in Lenoir. Officials said the residence was being used to sell illegal narcotics.

Authorities arrested 41-year-old Maston Howard Sanders and 24-year-old Shana McKinsey Patton at the home without incident.

During the search, agents seized approximately 130 grams of methamphetamine and 70 grams of fentanyl. Officials estimate the total street value of the drugs at about $33,500.

Both suspects are charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances.

Sanders and Patton were taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center, where they are being held without bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
