
GEORGIA — Two people have been arrested following a drug raid in Barbour County that resulted in the seizure of a large amount of narcotics, cash and firearms, according to the Eufaula Police Department.
Authorities said state agents executed a search warrant in Eufaula on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation.
As a result, 35-year-old Johnrecis Jones and 36-year-old Shavannah Moreland, both of Eufaula, were taken into custody and charged.
Jones faces three counts of drug trafficking, one count of first-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance and a charge of certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.
Moreland is charged with two counts of drug trafficking and one count of first-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance.
During the search, officials reported seizing a large quantity of illegal items, including 557 grams of amphetamine pills, 189 grams of opioid pills, seven pounds of marijuana and two pounds of synthetic cannabinoids. Authorities also recovered precursor chemicals used for manufacturing drugs, $64,120 in cash and four firearms.
Jones and Moreland are being held in the Eufaula City Jail without bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
