ALABAMA — Two men have been arrested following a major drug bust in Dothan that uncovered thousands of fentanyl pills, according to local police.

Authorities announced the arrests of 22-year-old Roland Craig Whitfield and 53-year-old Dewayne Brown Chambers, both charged with drug trafficking involving fentanyl after investigators executed search warrants at locations tied to the suspects.

According to the Dothan Police Department, officers carried out multiple search warrants on March 30, leading to the seizure of more than 11,000 fentanyl pills and approximately 129 grams of fentanyl powder.

Investigators also recovered about $9,166 in cash, two firearms, an electronic money counter and materials used to package narcotics. Officials estimated the street value of the seized fentanyl at around $250,000.

Both Whitfield and Chambers were booked into the Houston County Jail. It was not immediately known whether they had been granted bond.

In a statement, Dothan Police Chief William E. Benny said the department remains committed to combating the distribution of dangerous drugs in the community and holding those responsible accountable.

The investigation remains ongoing.
