NORTH CAROLINA — Two men were arrested Friday in separate drug busts following police investigations sparked by community tips, the Rocky Mount Police Department announced.
The arrests led to the seizure of nearly 10.7 pounds of marijuana, crack cocaine, two firearms, and cash, according to police reports.
The largest bust occurred during a drug raid at a home in the 400 block of Hill Street.
Acting on a tip about drug sales, officers executed a search warrant and discovered:
Police arrested Telemachus Watson, 43, who lives at the residence.
He faces multiple charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana and cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for selling controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and additional drug-related offenses.
In a separate incident, officers arrested Robert Holden Walker, 37, after stopping his vehicle on Cunningham Drive.
Police had received a tip that Walker was trafficking marijuana in Rocky Mount.
A search of his car uncovered 581.55 grams (1.2 pounds) of marijuana, along with a handgun and cash.
Walker was charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, and maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances.
Both men were taken to the Nash County Jail. Watson is being held without bond, while Walker’s bond was set at $10,500.
“The success of this operation is a testament to the partnership we share with the public. We remain dedicated to tackling drug trafficking in our city,” Rocky Mount Police Capt. Bunt said in a statement.
