TEXAS — Two men accused of dealing methamphetamine are in custody following a narcotics investigation in Jasper County, according to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division arrested 44-year-old Billy “BJ” Stephenson of Jasper and 46-year-old Paul Allen McDaniel of Brookeland on March 31.
Sheriff Chuck Havard said the arrests stem from a lengthy investigation into suspected methamphetamine distribution in the area.
The case was conducted in coordination with the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, including Investigator Karli Cherry.
Both men are charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, in an amount between four and 200 grams, a first-degree felony under Texas law.
Officials said Stephenson and McDaniel are being held in the Jasper County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
