VIRGINIA — Police seized methamphetamine, pills, and other drugs during a welfare check at a Catherine Street home in Bristol on Tuesday, authorities said.
According to the Bristol Virginia Police Department, officers were allowed into the residence during the welfare check. As they were leaving, they overheard a resident mention having “two ounces of drugs” in the home.
A subsequent search reportedly uncovered two ounces of methamphetamine, Schedule IV pills, 76 unidentified pills, and various drug paraphernalia.
Two people were arrested in connection with the seizure. Andrea Gross, 36, of Bristol, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I or II drug and possession of a Schedule IV substance.
Amanda Artusi, 32, of Glade Spring, was charged with possession of a Schedule I or II drug.
Gross is being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond, while Artusi was released on an unsecured bond, the BVPD said.
