TEXAS — A stolen vehicle investigation led to the discovery of drugs and a stolen firearm in Polk County, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said deputies were alerted Saturday to the location of a vehicle reported stolen out of Jasper County. When deputies arrived, they found the vehicle had already begun to be stripped for parts.

While at the scene, deputies observed a glass meth pipe in plain view inside a garage and requested assistance from the sheriff’s office Narcotics Division.

Investigators said methamphetamine was located inside a master bedroom that was jointly occupied by Leah Pisaturo of Livingston and Lawrence Simpson of Spring. Officials also recovered a firearm from the bedroom that was confirmed to have been stolen out of Harris County.

Pisaturo and Simpson were both charged with possession of a controlled substance and theft-related offenses.

Authorities said Pisaturo was booked into the Polk County Jail on a $45,000 bond, while Simpson was given a $50,000 bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
