Two people arrested following drug bust in Texas

TEXAS — Two people have been arrested following a months-long, multi-agency investigation into drug trafficking across Hays and Guadalupe counties, according to law enforcement officials.

The investigation was conducted through a partnership involving the San Marcos Police Department, the Seguin Police Department, and the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the operation began more than three months ago after investigators began tracking a suspect they believed was a major distributor of methamphetamine in the area.

Investigators identified Karin Mince of Seguin as a suspect and said she was distributing meth throughout Hays and Guadalupe counties. In October, officers seized approximately 14 ounces of methamphetamine and 7.5 grams of cocaine as part of the investigation.

The seizure led detectives to a second suspect, identified as Marcos Antonio Hernandez, a friend of Mince. Police said Hernandez was taken into custody earlier this month after he was caught delivering about one kilogram of methamphetamine, or roughly 2.2 pounds, during a follow-up investigation.

In total, authorities said they seized additional quantities of methamphetamine, including another half-kilogram, as well as counterfeit pills believed to contain fentanyl and other drugs.

Both suspects were booked into the Hays County Jail. Mince has since been released on bond, while Hernandez remains in custody with bond set at $90,000.
