
SOUTH CAROLINA — Two people were arrested Wednesday following a traffic stop that led to the seizure of drugs and a firearm in Darlington County, according to investigators.
The stop was conducted by the Darlington County Combined Drug Unit, which includes deputies from the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Hartsville Police Department. Authorities said the unit conducted a lawful traffic stop in the Darlington area of the county.
During a probable cause search of the vehicle, officers recovered 131 schedule pills, approximately 125 grams of methamphetamine, eight grams of fentanyl, eight grams of crack cocaine, four grams of marijuana, and one stolen handgun.
As a result of the investigation, Quentell Brown and Gabriel Davis were arrested at the scene.
Brown was charged with trafficking methamphetamine 100 grams or more, trafficking fentanyl four grams or more (second offense), possession with intent to distribute cocaine base (crack) third offense, possession of a stolen handgun, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, criminal conspiracy, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled substance third offense, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Davis was charged with trafficking methamphetamine 100 grams or more, trafficking fentanyl four grams or more (second offense), possession with intent to distribute cocaine base (crack), possession of a stolen handgun, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, criminal conspiracy, and possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled substance.
Both suspects are being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center while awaiting bond hearings.
The investigation remains active, and deputies said additional information may be released.
