SOUTH CAROLINA — Charleston police arrested two men following search warrants executed at two downtown homes, officials said.
Jermaine Sammy Milligan, 42, faces charges of trafficking cocaine base (10-28 grams) and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
Deangelo Montez Simmons, 38, is charged with trafficking cocaine (more than 400 grams), trafficking cocaine base (28-100 grams), trafficking fentanyl, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Police executed the warrants at homes on Congress Street near Senate Street and Simons Street near King Street, recovering illegal drugs and a firearm.
“Drugs and the violence that accompanies them have no place in our community,” Charleston Police Chief Chito Walker said. “This investigation reflects what we can accomplish when residents speak up and our officers remain committed to the work.”
Both Milligan and Simmons are being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center. A booking photo of Simmons was not immediately available Friday morning.
