SOUTH CAROLINA — Two people have been arrested following a large-scale drug distribution investigation that led to a raid in Wellford, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the investigation into Preston Young began in May. Because the case extended into Greer, Georgia, and North Carolina, the sheriff’s office worked with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Greer Police, and Spartanburg Police.
On Sept. 9, authorities searched a home in the 2100 block of Fort Prince Boulevard in Wellford, identified as the residence of Branna Moore and a hub for Young’s drug operations.
During the search, investigators seized:
- 2,224 grams (4.9 pounds) of methamphetamine
- 771 grams (1.7 pounds) of fentanyl
- 106 grams of cocaine
- 908 grams (2 pounds) of marijuana
- 152 grams of MDMA
- Three handguns
- Two vehicles
- Assorted jewelry
Young was arrested at a home in Greer on Sept. 9, while Moore was taken into custody on Sept. 10.
Both were booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center without bond.
