Two people arrested following drug bust in Ohio

OHIO — Two people were arrested in Cincinnati after authorities said they were found with illegal firearms and methamphetamine pills during a traffic stop.

According to the office of Mike DeWine, the arrests were part of a violent crime reduction initiative involving the Cincinnati Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Officials said the incident occurred Feb. 27 when law enforcement officers stopped a 2025 Kia Telluride on East Liberty Street after it allegedly crossed a double yellow line.

During the stop, investigators said they discovered two firearms inside the vehicle, including one equipped with an illegal switch modification. Authorities also reported finding methamphetamine pills in the car.

Adrian Hill, 20, and James White, 21, were taken into custody. Both men were charged with improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance. Hill was also charged with drug possession.

The arrests were among several made in recent days as part of the violence reduction operation in Dayton and Cincinnati. The governor’s office said eight felony arrests were made last week across the two cities.

“The success in reducing violent crime across Ohio relies on the strength of our law enforcement partnerships,” DeWine said. “These operations in Dayton and Cincinnati prove that when agencies at every level work toward one common goal, we can effectively remove violent offenders and illegal firearms from our streets.”
