OHIO — Two people were arrested Friday afternoon following a drug raid at a home on North Detroit Street in Bellefontaine.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., officers with the Bellefontaine Police Department’s Criminal Patrol Unit, assisted by Logan County Sheriff’s Office detectives, executed an arrest and search warrant at 134 North Detroit Street as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

Officers encountered 45-year-old De’Andrea L. Tucker on the front porch. Police say Tucker refused commands and kept his hands hidden in his sweatshirt pocket.

After a brief struggle, he was detained. During the encounter, officers say he attempted to discard suspected crack cocaine, which was recovered at the scene.

While Tucker was being taken into custody, officers knocked and announced their presence at the front door.

When no one responded, they forced entry. Inside, 46-year-old Stephanie L. Burk was seen running upstairs.

She was found in a bedroom, where police say she tried to dispose of suspected crack cocaine. Burk was taken into custody without further incident.

A search of the home turned up additional suspected crack cocaine, along with packaging materials, digital scales, baking soda, multiple cell phones, and other drug-related items commonly used in manufacturing and trafficking drugs.

Tucker was charged with possession of cocaine and tampering with evidence.

Burk was charged with possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence, illegal manufacturing of drugs, and trafficking in cocaine. Both were booked into the Logan County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing, and police say more charges may be filed as evidence is processed.
