NORTH CAROLINA — Two women were arrested after methamphetamine was discovered during a traffic stop in Kinston, according to police.
Officers with the Kinston Police Department said they stopped a vehicle on West Vernon Avenue just after midnight for motor vehicle violations.
Authorities identified the driver as 58-year-old Pamela Marquit and the passenger as 46-year-old Louise Hudson.
Police said a K9 unit, identified as Nero, was deployed during the stop. Following the search, officers reported seizing methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.
Both Marquit and Hudson were charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Marquit was also served with an outstanding arrest warrant from Onslow County.
Officials said both women were later released from jail after posting $5,000 secured bonds.
The incident remains under investigation.
