
NORTH CAROLINA — Two people were arrested Sunday after deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in Lenoir County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office said they were called to the area of Bank School Road on March 29 after receiving a report of a vehicle stopped in the middle of an intersection without its lights on.
When deputies arrived, they made contact with the occupants and conducted an investigation that led to a search of the vehicle. Authorities said narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found during the search.
The driver, identified as 41-year-old Curtis Ramsey of Lenoir County, was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, identified as methamphetamine. He was booked into the Lenoir County Jail under a no bond hold pending his first court appearance.
A passenger, 38-year-old Kelly Martin of Lenoir County, was also arrested. She is charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officials said she is being held on a $15,000 secured bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
