NORTH CAROLINA — Two men were arrested after a traffic stop in Lenoir County led deputies to discover outstanding warrants and illegal drugs, according to the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.

Major Greene initiated the stop on Nov. 17 near the intersection of Paul’s Path Road and Willie Measley Road for a moving violation. The occupants, identified as Rashad Perry, 35, and David Flemming, 34, both of Lenoir County, were found to have active warrants.

A search of the vehicle uncovered Schedule II controlled substances in the possession of both men, deputies said. They were taken into custody and face multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.

Perry is charged with possession of methamphetamine, trafficking methamphetamine, altering or destroying criminal evidence, maintaining a vehicle or place for controlled substances, motor vehicle violations, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He received a $275,000 secured bond and is being held at the Lenoir County Jail.

Flemming faces charges of possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, trafficking methamphetamine, altering or destroying criminal evidence, maintaining a vehicle or place for controlled substances, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
