MISSISSIPPI — Two men are in custody following a drug bust by the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department.
On Feb. 18, the department’s Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a home in the 1500 block of Winchester Street in Jackson after receiving complaints from residents.
With assistance from the Hinds County Street Crimes Unit and Jackson Police Department Narcotics, investigators seized more than $2,400 in cash, 10 pounds of marijuana, a Glock 22 with a switch, 101 bottles of Promethazine, and 51.5 grams of THC.
Authorities arrested Ernest Burnside and Channing Thomas.
Burnside faces multiple charges, including trafficking marijuana with intent, possession of controlled substances with intent while armed, possession of a machine gun conversion kit, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Thomas is charged with possession of controlled substances with intent, trafficking marijuana with intent, and possession of a machine gun conversion kit.
Officials said both men could also face federal charges.
