
LOUISIANA — Two people were arrested Tuesday after authorities seized large amounts of drugs, firearms, and cash during a search of a home on Annointing Drive in Opelousas.
Jared Jarrell Anderson, 35, and De’Shawn Lolita Randall, 33, both of Opelousas, were taken into custody following the investigation.
Authorities said the search uncovered approximately 3.5 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $5,000, 18 grams of suspected powder cocaine valued at $1,800, and 351 grams of synthetic marijuana valued at $1,000.
Deputies also seized $5,000 in cash, a Stag AR-15 assault rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun, and three pistols.
Anderson faces charges including possession with intent to distribute marijuana, synthetic marijuana, and cocaine; possession of drug paraphernalia; transactions involving drug proceeds; and five counts of possession of firearms in the presence of drugs.
Randall is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, synthetic marijuana, and cocaine; possession of drug paraphernalia; and five counts of possession of firearms in the presence of drugs.
Anderson was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail and later released on a $55,250 bond. Randall was released on a $30,250 bond.
