Two people arrested following drug bust in Louisiana

LOUISIANA — Two men have been arrested following a major joint narcotics investigation in New Orleans that led to the seizure of drugs, weapons, and cash.

Keenan Robinson, 44, and Alphonse Smith, 43, were taken into custody by New Orleans Police after officers executed high-risk search warrants at two locations — the 3200 block of Saint Peter Street and the 7500 block of Means Avenue.

During the operation, investigators confiscated six firearms, including one reported stolen, along with over $3,000 in cash.

A large quantity of illegal drugs was also seized, including:

  • Five pounds of marijuana
  • 90 grams of heroin
  • 1.45 pounds of crystal meth
  • Over 2,000 tapentadol pills
  • 100 grams of fentanyl powder
  • 1.85 pounds of ecstasy or suspected fentanyl pills
  • 170 grams of naloxone
  • 100 carisoprodol tablets
  • 101 grams of crack and powder cocaine
  • 30 grams of methamphetamine

Police also recovered a stolen black Nissan Rogue as part of the operation.

Robinson and Smith face numerous drug-related charges, including possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities said the investigation involved collaboration across multiple departments.
