Two people arrested following drug bust in Kentucky

KENTUCKY — Two Glasgow men were arrested and charged with drug-related offenses following a traffic stop Saturday, according to the Glasgow Police Department.

Police said officers conducted the stop on New Salem Road after observing a vehicle with an obstructed windshield. During the stop, officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, prompting a search.

Authorities reported finding marijuana and a 9 mm handgun inside the vehicle.

Charles Ballard, 30, of Glasgow, was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), second offense; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; and obstructed vision or windshield.

Nathaniel McCandless, 31, also of Glasgow, was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
