Two people arrested following drug bust in Indiana

INDIANA — An Elkhart couple has been arrested following a drug investigation that uncovered suspected fentanyl inside their home.

According to Indiana State Police, the investigation began in January after officers received a complaint. The inquiry led to a search warrant being executed on Feb. 9 at a residence in the 53000 block of Hickory Lane.

During the search, investigators reported finding 44 grams of fentanyl, a fentanyl press and a handgun.

Police arrested Robert Horton II, 44, and Jacques Horton, 45, both of Elkhart.

Robert Horton faces charges of dealing in a narcotic, possession of a narcotic and maintaining a common nuisance. Jacques Horton faces charges of possession of a narcotic and maintaining a common nuisance.

Public employee salary records indicate Jacques Horton has worked as a juvenile probation officer for Elkhart County since 2014.

Both were taken to the Elkhart County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
