ILLINOIS — A routine traffic stop on March 1 led to the arrest of two Benton, Illinois, residents on multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon.
Christopher police officers pulled over the vehicle driven by 22-year-old Dalexis D. Ransom and 21-year-old Marshun D. Johnson after observing several traffic violations.
Investigators charged Ransom with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to yield, having a suspended registration, unlawful possession of a weapon, and violating the Cannabis Control Act, in addition to an outstanding warrant.
Johnson faces charges for obstructing identification, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and three outstanding warrants.
Both individuals were transported to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and released to jail staff pending further processing.
