ILLINOIS — Danville police arrested two people Wednesday following a gunshot incident and a subsequent search that uncovered firearms and drugs.

Officers responded at 8:36 a.m. to a report of a gunshot at the intersection of Jackson Street and Cherry Street. Police identified Clayvonte Sloan, a Danville resident, as a suspect and stopped him as he was leaving the area in a vehicle.

Investigators then focused on a residence in the 400 block of North Jackson Street, where they contacted resident Talicia Duckworth. A court-ordered search warrant was executed at the home, leading to the discovery of two firearms, suspected cannabis, methamphetamine, cocaine, and U.S. currency.

Sloan and Duckworth were arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including armed violence, unlawful possession of firearms, possession and delivery of cannabis between 500 and 2,000 grams, and possession of methamphetamine between 5 and 15 grams. Sloan also faces an additional charge of aggravated discharge of a firearm.
