Two people arrested following drug bust in Georgia

GEORGIA — Two men were arrested and a large quantity of illegal drugs seized after the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a Statesboro residence suspected of being used for drug trafficking.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began after the Crime Suppression Team (CST) received an anonymous tip about suspected narcotics activity at a home on Johnson Street within the city limits. Based on the information, investigators obtained a search warrant for the property.

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, deputies with the CST, K9 unit, and Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT) executed the warrant.

Inside the home, investigators discovered trafficking amounts of compressed fentanyl-laced tablets and bath saltstrafficking quantities of cocaine, a large amount of marijuana, and a drug-related object.

Authorities also found a canine on the property in extremely poor health. Bulloch County Animal Control responded and took custody of the animal.

Two individuals were taken into custody:

  • Dryan Markel Bartley, of Statesboro, was charged with:
    • Trafficking fentanyl (more than 28 grams)
    • Trafficking cocaine (more than 28 grams)
    • Possession of Schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute (bath salts)
    • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
    • Tampering with evidence (felony)
    • Possession of a drug-related object
    • Cruelty to animals
  • Marqueles Damon Dennis, also of Statesboro, was charged with:
    • Possession of Schedule II controlled substance (fentanyl)
    • Possession of Schedule I controlled substance (bath salts)
    • Possession of a drug-related object

Both men were booked into the Bulloch County Jail.
