FLORIDA — Two men are facing multiple felony charges after a major drug bust by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) resulted in the seizure of more than 98,000 potentially lethal doses of fentanyl, along with cocaine, marijuana, firearms, and cash.
Detectives with JSO’s Community Problem Response (CPR) Unit were conducting a follow-up investigation when they observed suspicious activity outside a home on Spearing Street.
Officers reported seeing individuals load items into a vehicle, prompting a traffic stop.
Inside the car, detectives found 78 grams of fentanyl—equivalent to 39,000 potentially deadly doses—along with 25 grams of cocaine and 40 grams of marijuana.
That stop led investigators to obtain a search warrant for the residence, where they discovered an additional 119 grams of fentanyl (over 59,000 doses), 25 grams of cocaine, 23.5 grams of marijuana, 10 firearms, and $7,000 in cash.
Jaaon McGhee, 25, and Lorenzo Dukes, 24, were arrested and now face several felony charges related to drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession.
