ALABAMA — Two people were booked into the county jail last week on multiple drug charges following a police response to an unresponsive person.
On July 16 at approximately 4:37 a.m., Scottsboro Police officers were called to the 1600 block of South Broad Street.
Upon arrival, officers found 40-year-old Matthew Johnston unresponsive. After rendering medical aid, Johnston became responsive.
Officers also made contact with 29-year-old Dakota O’Rear at the scene. A search warrant was obtained for the residence, during which police seized the following items:
Johnston was charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, second-degree possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
O’Rear was charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, and second-degree possession of marijuana.
Both individuals were taken to the Jackson County Jail and held on bond.
