PENNSYLVANIA — Two Philadelphia residents are facing multiple drug charges after police say they were caught selling heroin and crystal methamphetamine out of an Altoona hotel room.

According to the Altoona Police Department, officers were alerted to suspected drug activity at the Wingate by Wyndham hotel along Chestnut Avenue in Blair County.

On Friday, Feb. 6, officers conducted what they described as a “knock and talk” at a second-floor room. Police said they made contact with 31-year-old Ajee Chriswell and 21-year-old William Matthews, both from Philadelphia.

Authorities said the pair was detained while officers searched the room.

During the search, police reported finding 26 packets of suspected heroin hidden inside a fake salt container. Investigators also said they seized one gram of crystal methamphetamine, more than $1,100 in cash and drug-packaging materials.

Chriswell and Matthews were taken to the Blair County Prison and are facing multiple drug-related charges, including possession with intent to deliver.

Officials said bail for each suspect was set at $300,000.
