SOUTH CAROLINA — Two people have been arrested in connection with a carjacking that investigators say occurred last week in the Olanta area.
According to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested 36-year-old Johnny Lee Love Jr. on Monday. He faces charges including kidnapping, assault and battery, and blackmail.
Authorities said a second suspect, 50-year-old Robert Dale Causby Jr., was arrested Tuesday and faces the same charges.
Deputies said the incident happened last Thursday when the suspects allegedly lured the victim to a location on North Jones Road in the Olanta area. Investigators said once the victim arrived, the two suspects forcibly removed the victim from the vehicle.
Authorities allege the suspects assaulted the victim and forced the victim to sign over possession of a Ford F-350 pickup truck while making deadly threats.
Both suspects are currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing. The investigation is ongoing.
