KANSAS — Two men from Johnson County were arrested late Sunday night in connection with a burglary at an abandoned property in Eskridge, according to the Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office.
On May 26, 2025, Sergeant Williams observed a suspicious gray 2018 Hyundai Tucson circling a structure on the 200 block of South Cedar without headlights before parking.
Two individuals dressed in black exited the vehicle and entered the vacant building with bags, later seen loading items into the vehicle.
As the suspects attempted to leave the area, Sergeant Williams initiated a traffic stop. The driver was identified as 18-year-old Zane Arthur Burnett and the passenger as 19-year-old Eli Joseph Hoskins.
A probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered stolen property from the building, including Masonic books, antique photographs, and other items in wet, dirt-covered bags.
Both men were arrested without incident and transported to the Wabaunsee County Jail. They remain in custody pending bond on burglary charges.
Authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
