KENTUCKY — Two people were arrested Tuesday following a domestic dispute at a home on Ty Lane, authorities said.
Officers were called in the afternoon after reports that a woman may have had a gun and that shots were possibly fired.
When police arrived, 55-year-old Roderick Tejada was at the scene with injuries to his hand and back. The woman, 52-year-old Iris Lewis, had left the home but was later located nearby in a vehicle.
Police said the couple had been fighting over the past two days. During the altercation, flower pots were reportedly thrown, and both individuals were injured. A spent shell casing was also found at the scene.
A subsequent search of Lewis’s car revealed a handgun hidden in the trunk, along with loose ammunition and clothing. The gun had been separated from its magazine and ammo, which investigators said indicated an attempt to conceal the weapon.
Lewis was charged with assault, wanton endangerment – discharge of a firearm, and tampering with physical evidence. Tejada faces an assault charge. Both were taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
